Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the Licensing Executives Society International and the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada), we welcome you to the 2008 Annual Meeting of the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada) in Orlando. This is the major meeting of the year for LES (USA & Canada) which will provide a new high level of educational content, insights from world-recognized thought leaders, and broadly expanded business and technology commercialization networking opportunities. The meeting committee has incorporated international themes and participation from around the world through the involvement of the member societies of the Licensing Executives Society International and its industry sectors and committees.

Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the 2008 LES (U.S.A. & Canada) Annual Meeting Committee, we invite you to join us in Orlando, Florida October 19-23, 2008. The meeting's theme reflects the LES 2008 initiative - GLOBAL EXCELLENCE IN LICENSING AND ACQUISITION THROUGH CERTIFICATION.

The 2008 Annual Meeting gathers the Global marketplace for innovation and intellectual property. The LES provides the world's leading forum for sharing best practices and accessing the tools to achieve Excellence in navigating our “flat world” and its interconnections for technology transfer. The meeting themes will provide you new insights to translate invention to the marketplace through Licensing, Strategic Alliances, and other vehicles to create value from intellectual property. Throughout the meeting and in the mini-plenary series we will navigate the expanding role of Acquisitions to inject technologies and brands, filling company pipelines of value offerings, and providing economies of scale for commercial access. The Certified Licensing Professional process will also be supported by programs conveying the latest in IP management, and insights into the impacts of evolving legal frameworks.

Our conference venue of the Gaylord Palms provides a relaxed environment for professional networking and a family-friendly base to explore the other opportunities Orlando and Florida have to offer. The LES 2008 Annual Meeting will deliver unique business value to meet the evolving needs and interests of business development and licensing professionals.

The Meeting Committee has assembled an outstanding array of programming content. More than ever the LES Annual Meeting will provide you usable insights into the trends affecting innovation and commercialization, including globalization and dealing with emerging economies, licensing convergent technologies, building market channels through public-private partnerships, brand licensing, and the impacts of sustainability, energy and climate change. The plenary programs each morning feature leading edge viewpoints. The LES and LESI Industry Sectors and Committees have contributed add-on seminars, mini-plenary programs and workshops to provide updates on the latest issues. The new Licensing Leaders Forum is designed to further equip business development and licensing leaders to excel. Integral to the Orlando meeting is LES Power Networking, where you can arrange to meet with your key business contacts to make the most of your time in Orlando. The expanded LES Tech Fair and Power Poster Sessions, sector receptions and networking dinners are enhanced to deliver business connections and licensing opportunities.

The 2008 Annual Meeting will continue the LES tradition of providing a unique and valuable experience for all participants. Whether this will be your first LES event or thirtieth, LES meetings create a special environment - to learn, to engage, and to connect. Join us for the largest annual event for licensing professionals and find out why the LES is your best resource in a world connected at the speed of thought. Be there! Register by July 31 to save.
