Cooking Class at Wolfgang Puck
11:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m.
* Meet Bus at 11:00 a.m.
Hosted at Wolfgang Puck Cafe, located at DOWNTOWN DISNEY® West Side, this class is taught by energetic Sous Chefs, who have trained under Wolfgang'
s direction since our opening in 1997. The class includes a brief history of the Wolfgang Puck culture, the "
Live, Love, Eat"
philosophy, and demonstrations of Wolfgang Puck signature dishes accompanied by lunch, which will incorporate the dishes and recipes presented.
The first course offers an education on sushi. Learn the difference between Nigiri, Maki and Sashimi styles. And learn how to produce the special sweet and sticky rice and how to make a California Roll, known as beginner'
s sushi. The second course features the infamous Chopped Vegetable Salad. Participants will be chosen from the audience to help the chefs with the preparation, and are provided with some handy tips to use in at home, from shopping to making great dressings.
Next, the chefs will demonstrate how to make homemade Pumpkin Ravioli, discussing the importance of quality products and selection of ingredients. Now that you are "
fired"
up, learn how to use a torch to caramelize the top of Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee. In addition, you will discover how to dress it with an Almond Tuile and create clever fruit sauce designs. The class concludes with a question and answer period, and a variety of helpful hints and tips.
Cost: $118.00
Attendance: Minimum of 30/Maximum of 50 people
Ageless Airboat
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
* Meet the bus at 9:30 a.m.
This educational excursion takes you into the seldom-visited heart of natural Florida. Experience the beautiful protected wetland hammocks, walk through ancient flatwoods, and travel by airboat into pristine sections of fresh water marshes and up river, into the baldcypress swamp, home of the Florida alligator, American bald eagle and a huge assortment of wildlife. Certified eco-guides, biologists, botanists, and Audubon experts are trained to assure that each guest comes away with a new and profound understanding of our vastly different land and plant communities, and the importance of their interrelationship and preservation. You will see a marvelous assortment of birds, reptiles and plants - some endangered, some threatened, as well as a few native species found in this area affectionately called "
The Central Florida Everglades."
This tour is moderate, and extremely interesting.
The day'
s experiences begin at the Tosohatchee Florida Trail. Ecoguides will take guests on a short 30-45 minute hike into the heart of this pristine wilderness before arriving at a 100-year-old station, a turn of the century fish camp. A "
Swamp Romp Lunch"
is included before boarding boats to experience the American Heritage River and its abundant wildlife via 15-passenger airboats. Each airboat has its own guide and a Coast Guard licensed boat captain.
Cost: $122
Attendance: Minimum of 40/Maximum of 110 people
